Artist-in-Residence, Sojourn Studios, Houston, TX, January to March 2016

I was an artist-in-residence for two months at Sojourn Studios in Houston.

During my residency, I created work exploring the development of post-World War II suburban housing, and its effect on the current structure of American cities. My work was also influenced by research on the underlying beliefs and values behind American housing. All of the final sculptures were created with old photographs and blueprints from Levittown, a quintessential post-war American suburb, as a source material.

Pictured above are  images to document my residency and studio thinking process.

Sculpture Trails Outdoor Museum Artist Intern, Solsberry, IN, July 2015

I am “tapping” the furnace to begin an iron pour.

I was an artist intern at Indiana Sculpture Trails Outdoor Museum for a month in July 2015. During this time, I collaboratively ran artist workshops alongside a team of interns, worked with the foundry to produce cast iron art, and assisted with community outreach events, such as the Fire at Night Pour.

Windgate Research Fellowship, The University of Alabama, fall 2012- spring 2013

Fellow print-making student, Kayla Reid and I were awarded a Windgate Research Fellowship to  create a large scale screen-printed work inspired by our interest in Renaissance altarpieces.  The project culminated in an exhibition featuring the work of several Windgate Fellows at The Sarah Moody Gallery.
